The Maine Medical Association Advocates for Maine physicians' and their patients' interests before the Maine Legislature.
The MMA’s advocacy team builds relationships within the Maine Legislature to ensure your voice is heard in Maine's health care policy debate. Your involvement at every step, from testifying at hearings to advocating before votes, can make a real difference. Advocacy matters, and your participation helps shape policies that benefit patients and physicians alike.
We would also love it if you signed up for the “Medical Provider of the Day” Program, a critical element of our grassroots advocacy program. Volunteering will give you a better sense of our legislators’ perception of the medical profession, the importance of building relationships with your legislators, and an opportunity to promote the medical profession among the state’s leaders. The “Medical Provider of the Day” responds to health care issues among legislators, staff, or the public. If you want to register to be a “Medical Provider of the Day,” click here. Please contact Sarah Lepoff at slepoff@mainephysicians.org with questions or for more information.
We are committed to including physicians’ voices in the process. Subscribe to the Maine Medicine Weekly Update to stay informed about our advocacy efforts, including legislative committee meetings held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm over Zoom during the Legislative Session. Please reach out anytime; your involvement matters.
